I thought about buying 4 17x10.5 deep dish wheels. If my math is correct, with a 6.8" backspacing and having them narrowed to 8 inches would give me a new backspacing of 4.3, This is close to 4.5" of backspacing but is it close enough or will it stick out too far?

I might just have to give up on running fr500's. I know there was a guy that had them but the front set were narrowed to 8 inches. Unless I could get a good deal on some, the cost of that would make it not worth it.

I am not entirely convinced that it is a timing issue. If it was timing wouldnt the tick happen all the time? if there is no click then it might be the flasher, check and see if its getting power when the signal is engaged. should be under the dash.

Im not sure on the years but my mustang has a 2 element bulb on for tail lights the other is shared by the blinker and brakes. if they are the same its probably not going to be a bad bulb due to the fact that the chances all 4 went out at the same time. Do you hear the click when the blinkers...

Is reducing the timing something I can do myself?

What would cause a ticking noise only on acceleration? I was thinking it might be an exhaust leak but wanted to ask for input. Its gradual with the motor so the higher the rpm the faster it ticks untill it becomes steady and is lost in the engine noise.

Replaced the belt today and not only did the squeal stop but I can honestly say the car steers a lot better. Not saying that it drives great or even good but it is noticeably better and reduced the dead feel when driving down the road.

The pulley layout goes from the power steering pump, over to the fan, down to the crank and back up to the power steering. The other belt goes from the alternator to the fan, down to the crank and back to the alt. There are no other pulleys or guides that the belt goes over or touches.

It is a v belt but how do I know what year my setup is?
