    347 VS. 331

I agree with above, all correct statements except I have had great success using a stock block for a stroker. The original horror stories started when a shop in carolina first came up with the 347 as an option for the 302. Their mistake was using too long of a rod and using very low tension oil...

    Engine Headers glowing

Only thing that will make headers glow is retarded timing. What timing set did you use when you installed the camshaft? Google "using a piston stoo to find tdc" lots of videos and articles on the subject. Buy a piston stop that is adjustable and use #1 cyl. Then I use a 3 buck timing tape from...

i keep having to adjust timing. wtf?

I installed many PIH harnesses back in the day and never ran an ignition box. I don't know where you read that. Retarding timing kills power and can make the engine pop out the intake. 13 deg advanced makes for a total at wot of 28 deg or so. If your pcm has a chip in it, it's designed to be...

i keep having to adjust timing. wtf?

Man, lots of opinions in here. First, there is nothing wrong with the PIH conversion. The 93 and earlier MAF computers were more forgiving than the sn ones, comparing untuned to untuned of course. Secondly, retarding your timing will only make it run worse and worse. Which begs the question...

    94 gt 5.0 aode swapped to T5

Short answer, no. You need a manual computer or a chip that turns off all the auto functions. Getting a T4M0 computer is cheaper and easier.

    T5 Main Shaft Repair

I agree, that gear is garbage. It'll start popping out of gear soon and as said above, it'll wear faster. I used to build 2 T5s a week, back in the day, now not so much. Anyway, I know Liberty Gear in MI has a way to repair your output shaft. Once the surface coating gets worn and pitted, it'll...

Interior and Upholstery Restoring the Door Panels On Destiny the '86 GT

Fox-resto has the juke padding already cut out. I get all my resto stuff from there. Lmr is my last resort if no one else has it. Personal preference. I've got a 90 LX that has backing panels in a lot worse shape but just don't feel like fooling with it. Fox resto has the plastic moisture...

Drivetrain Help with Check Engine Light after Transmission Swap - 1990 Mustang LX 5.0

Yes, the one the tester grounds. I work for Chrysler, I'm in Auburn Hills occasionally. I'm a field service engineer. I fix stuff like this all the time. But since covid we are on lots of restrictions. Miss getting out and about. Replace the computer or send it out and get it repaired.

    Whats this ground for?

The one year I don't own. Lol. Sorry. I also don't have an 87.

Engine No Injector pulse on 7 and 8 cylinder

I was about to post up and tell you this. This was a common issue back in the 90s when it was popular to swap an A9L into a 94/5 for power. Guys wouldn't swap these pins and have similar issues. Glad you found it.

Forced Induction Injector size for supercharger

People run the 60s and 80s so they can go E85 as well. Not sure why you did all this on a speed density car and expected it to run correctly or am I missing something? I would have put the ms on initially and got used to it before I threw a bunch of variables into the equation.

    Drivetrain best drag trans?

Glide if that's what floats your boat. Easy to get the car to hook up on launch, and isn't a hp eater like a 400 and usually can be found used as well. SFI cases and a multitude of parts are available too.

Electrical Car is undriveable. Pulled codes, replaced parts still no bueno!

Did you put a K&N filter or cold air on this? When you replaced the maf, was it the entire housing or just electronics? Is there a tear or leak in the tube that goes from the maf to the throttle body? Did you take the oil cap off and put one of those little filters in it? Is the pcv hose cracked...

Brakes Need advice on unique problem - trying to convert to rear disc brakes but not much room for a caliper - suggestions?

Caliper will be way behind the shock. Look to northracecars.com for their rear conversion brackets. With a 9 in that will be your issue. May want to look at an aerospace rear disk race setup. They offer one that works with 9in bearing setups. I sold and installed a bunch if these on street cars...

Progress Thread Still in need of nitrous help!!

Bottom line, those plates suck. Cylinder distribution is terrible with some cylinders getting huge doses of fuel and others getting nitrous and little fuel. Get a plate that goes between the upper and lower and spray 150 after you put a power adder fuel pump in, like a GSS340 from Walbro. That...

I'm confused. Are you baselining with the stock ported heads or not?

    Engine Engine build help

That depends, do you live in a state with emissions testing? If not, then have it turned off when you get it tuned. DSS pistons with valve reliefs for those heads, not sure what the heads flow, so can't recommend a cam without it.

Dash lights/radio lights stay on with key off and with fuses out.

So this isn't your car? What was the last thing the customer did to the car? I've seen car alarms do stupid crap like this, but if the harness has gotten hot and a power wire melted to the dash light wires, this could happen. I'd continue pulling fuses and unhooking fusable links until the lights...

    Engine 302 cam in 351w possible ?

Actually, the HO firing order is the 351 firing order, they are one in the same, so a 351 cam would have the HO firing order. But yeah, toss a B cam in there. Should work fine and have plenty of ptv clearance.
