Build Thread '83 T-top Coupe - Welding Holes in My Rear

My wife and I are driving around Lake Michigan. Should be about 1100 miles ish, and will be the last trip before the car gets put up for the winter

Not sure if you've ever tried car-part.com before? Just beam up what part you want and it shows you what's available, and how far away. I think most of the places pull the stuff for you too if it isn't already on their shelf.

    Wrap That Thing!

Yea, the front bumper of the fox was a pain. Lots of splicing in. Use the body lines to hide the cuts. Also, use matte black to fill in too.

I did carbon fiber on the center section of my excursion hood when I had it... Because it has a "pattern" to it, it looks funny when you stretch it to get it to go around curves, just so ya know.

    Wrap That Thing!

My ex-father-in-law helped me paint it. It was probably a 6 out of 10 at best. At the time I did not know, but he used super cheap paint, which was one of the reasons for wrapping it... It just about needed repainted after only a few years... The vinyl DOES NOT hide any imperfections. If you...

    Wrap That Thing!

It isn't super hard, just very time consuming. I want to say I had about $400 in vinyl to do the fox. I am cheap though, and put in extra seams so I would use less material. That car was a 10'er at best on a good day anyway... I've got about $700 in vinyl for my 4 door short bed silverado with...

    Wrap That Thing!

When wrapping anything, it needs to be pretty much in the same shape as if you were painting it. ANY flaws / imperfections will show thru. I'm not sure if wrapping over the primer would be a good idea. You could take a small piece of vinyl and stick it on to "test" and see how well it sticks. If...

    How to buy new?

I'm not really sure, but we have a "discount" website we can go to for all kinds of things. (Not just cars..) Most all the auto manufacturers will give us some kind of "special" pricing for being UPS employees.

You can pick up all the tools on amazon. To do this I used magnets, basic squeegee, knife less cut tape, heat gun (Or hairdryer.... AFTER I burned my arm on the heat gun.....) and a "snap off" type razor blade. I can post some amazon links if you are really interested. In front of the car is...

    How to buy new?

When I bought my '17, I had the option of taking "x amount" off, or doing 0% financing. The 0% was a better deal. I've heard they are doing that deal again now (in July) I bought my car in July 17, so they may offer 0% every year? I also qualified for (i think it was) x plan pricing because I...
