End of an era, 1999 #3636 is leaving me today

Drove a 96 Viper this weekend and it didnt get me excited at all. It has lots of power and torque and pretty long legged but it just didnt have what I expected for "snap" and it didnt sound half as good as my old Cobra. Just not for me, so removing from my list of possible replacements.

Thought I'd share my 93 Cobra

That is absolutely gorgeous. The right color and body. IMO the fox body is the best since the classic or 05+. I loved my 89. Congrats on having such a sweet ride.

End of an era, 1999 #3636 is leaving me today

Well, my big plan to get into some new muscle is slowly coming together. I sold my 99 Cobra, and the new owner is picking it up this afternoon to drive off into the sunset. It was on the market for 3 weeks and to my surprise drew quite a large interest from all across the country but the new...

05 front end on 99-04 car

I saw the full page add in the latest issue of MM&FF for this kit which didnt look half bad, but when I browsed to the website and saw all the pictures of that silver mustang with the actual kit I didnt like it as much. I think the add had some photochop done to make look better. I think the...

    Starting Problems

On the drivers side of the engine block down by the motor mount is a ground cable that is known to become loose and cause that problem.

    Service Engine Soon light @

Another thing that can cause that code is if you have a Steeda timing adjuster installed and there is the slightest wobble while rotating.

Anyone considered modding a new Mustang GT verses getting a GT500?

I agree with you, when the time comes the final price of the GT500 will be the deciding factor. Soemthing to consider is when the GT500 rolls out the market will be flooded with GT's and the market adjustment should be minimal if at all, thus lowering the out the door price.

Anyone considered modding a new Mustang GT verses getting a GT500?

I'm sorry you feel my question is stupid. I guess I am missing the point you are obviously so defensive about that has no real bearing on my original and simple question. If you could not afford a GT500 would you consider a Mustang GT? I think if you owned a pre-03 Cobra that is getting...

Anyone considered modding a new Mustang GT verses getting a GT500?

I think that would be everyone's first instinct to think that, however when you get people like me that are Mustang enthusiasts and have been driving Mustangs for 25 years of all models ranging from 4, 6, and 8 cylinders you may find that there are more folks that wouldnt have a huge problem...

Anyone considered modding a new Mustang GT verses getting a GT500?

Speculating, the GT500 may cost approximately $15-20k out the door over what a new Mustang GT costs. Throw some of that savings into a SC and other mods and you still get quite a nice new performing car. Yes the GT500 will be the king of the hill but not everyone can turn over a new car plus...

Just found out I qualify for the X-Plan. Question for those that have used it?

X-Plan has been offered on all previous SVT including Cobra's so we'll just have to wait and see about the new GT500. Big-Al, thanks for the info. I have a salesman I deal with on all my purchases and have emailed him about this. Just wanted to make sure his story lined with others.

Just found out I qualify for the X-Plan. Question for those that have used it?

Ye'Haw.....No idea what I'll use it on yet but good to know. Do X-plans vary based on the business partner? Looks like 4% below MSRP on my X-Plan so trying to get the full scoop on this so when I use it I know the deal.

How much you want to spend? I'll be selling my 99 in the future and live in Keller.

For those that have driven both GT 5spd and auto?

Thanks for the responses. The last auto Mustang I owned was an 89 GT 5.0 and I thought for an auto performed quite well. I also prefer a stick but getting older and lazier so looking at all options.
