Thanks a lot for the info!! It'll be useful to someone else I'm sure. I was able to fix the issue yesterday. Frustration got the best of me and I doused the lock with way more WD40 than I thought I should. And viola! Hood closed on the first try. Not embarrassing at all, right? lol.

Has anybody had this issue before? My hood closes but doesn't lock shut. I can't figure out what the problem is. Very frustrating and I can't drive on the highway because I'm afraid the hood will fly up. Any ideas? I sprayed WD40 on the lock mechanism but it didn't help.
