is there a way to mybe trim it to size or is it a waste? what about the doors are they the same except electronics?

My 91 was in a accident, I found a fender and door. The door went on smooth, but after i lined up the fender, i notices my ground effect near front clip would not go on. It seems the new fender is slighty bigger. Does anyone know why it might be bigger or a easy fix?
