    Price of Machined block?

I agree with candy. 327's are a dime a dozen. As a buyer and seller the first thing i ask is why was it bored. A bored small block other than a 350 or 400 block usually indicates damage to the bore. Not that its a deal killer but i can pick up complete 283 327s 305s. 2 bolt 350s for 300 - 400...

    VAPORLOCK

Forgot to add that if you install a 12v pusher pump as close to the tank as possible and replace your rubber lines if they are older we typically eliminate fuel delivery issues. Pushing fuel is preferable to sucking fuel.... We buy the napa brand pumps for around 50 bucks..

    VAPORLOCK

If you suspect vapor lock try this. Remove the fuel line from the carb. Go to home depot or lowes and pick up some clear tubbing and a barbed double sided fitting. Install the clear line to the carb and watch. You should see air traveling through the line. Keep in mind the tube is not...

Pressurize the cooling system and check for a leak if you are suspect of a coolant leak. Sounds like you need to a leak down test and check your valves and head the condition of your head gasket.

    what would you do?

Purchases like that are always a personall call. I personally would never buy a classic mustang past 1970. 71-73 mustangs even in great condition just do not bring the prices anddo not have the same value for the investment as other mustangs do. Return on my investment has always been the big...

    Compression test results?

Well the white smoke is indicative of burning oil in most cases. Try pulling the plugs on that side and cleaning them really well. Reinstall them and run the engine. Pull the plugs out and see if you got one that is has a lot of residue on it. But you also said it was overheating. Make sure you...

    opinions of side exhaust

I had side exiting pipes on my 66 fastback that turned out right infront of the rear tires. They sounded great just did not fucntion great.Mustangs are already low and I lowered mine alot more. I had 2 1/2 pipes and they would scrape on every speed bump or steep angled drive way on exit. Just...

    Driveline vibes.

I would suggest just pulling the shaft out and taking it somewhere and having it checked. I had a shaft balanced at a local jeep shop and it cost me like 20 bucks. A lot easier than trying to chase out the vibration with hose clamps. If the shaft is ok you know you got problems elsewhere. I...

quick questions for the welding experts

Wicked93gs is right about getting the biggest machine you can afford. But there are down sides to that. Most homes are not set up with the required plugs and or voltage to run a bigger welder. I would recommend being that you are new to welding, is to go to home depot or lowes ect and buy a 110...

    66 conv no start

Are you getting fuel? It takes 3 things to make any engine run. Fuel, spark and compression. Pull the fuel line of the carb and crank the engine over and see if the fuel pump is putting out. If it is putting out fuel try setting the carb to a rich condition and try giving it a few cranks. Pull...

Shock Tower Crack Repair: Which Manual for Dimensions?

Where is the crack located on the tower? Base, middle, top? I doubt that any of the physical dimensions have changed from two cracks. Not saying that they didn’t, but I find it unlikely. I’m assuming that you just have some small cracks along the base of the tower? If it was just me I would weld...

    Compression test results?

Not sure how you got fuel inside your tester, the Schrader valve should have not let fuel into the tester. The results look pretty consistent. The number 4 cylinder looks a little off. I would redo your test again. I have never been a real believer in the fact that there can be a real accurate...
