It's the head unit. The speakers are actually not bad. I didn't realize how muddy the factory system sounded until I went from my old 99 with a Sony MP-70 to my new 03 with the stock system. Throw a new head unit and maybe a sub in there, and you'll be fine.

I'd go with the SLP just because it comes with all the right lines and fittings. The Hurst and B&M units work just fine, but you'll have to get an extra fitting adaptor kit and bend some lines yourself.

My mac prochamber was the best midpipe I've ever heard, and it made great power. Unfortunately it didn't fit back on after my T56 swap. Now I have a mac catted H, and I'm quite happy with it as well. It has a great muscle car sound to it.
