How many people have broken their stock rears on DR's?

That's what I was getting at. My trac loc is perfectly safe with me behind the wheel trying to launch. :rlaugh: Its the grabs that get to it.

    Sub-Frames on Non-Vert worth it?

Do them and do them now. The longer you drive around without them, the less helpful they are.

What is the stock transmission in a 2001 GT

I think the easiest way to tell is the drain plug. If its at an angle, its a T-45. The 3650 drain is like straight down. I may be mistaken or mixed up and there may be an easier way.

    X2C control arms are worthless

The new arms are boxed and have Energy Suspension poly bushings, you will have no problems with them. I never really promote a company, but as SilverBullitt99 can atest to from on the corral, I'll go to bat for those guys at X2C. I had the old arms, they hooked me up on the new ones. I've...

What is the stock transmission in a 2001 GT

If its a 3650, there is no rebuild kit as Ford still has the rights to the tranny and won't release anything, or something like that. A lot of people have had trouble with both the 45 and the 3650, but should you get lucky ahd get a good one, the 3650 should be the better tranny. I have no...

    saleen kit

If you're concerned about weight, get the fiberglass knock-off. Way lighter than urethane, although doesn't give as much should you be in a fender-bender. Speedworx does have probably the best prices on original Saleen stuff, but after you order, you're in the hands of Saleen customer service...

What is the stock transmission in a 2001 GT

First half of the model year was T-45. Feb 1, '01 was the date for the switch to the TR-3650. You can still find some later build dates with the T-45 though.

How many people have broken their stock rears on DR's?

Every once in a while, as you can see, people break on DRs. Typically, the DRs you hear breaking parts are like 15" BFGs, which hook almost as well as ET Streets in the right conditions. The 17" Nittos are relatively safe, but of course you're going to shorten the life of the rear by the tires...

    coilovers

I have the X2C coilovers. They work pretty well. You might be able to get away with stock struts, but its pretty much pointless. The rears you have to change to ones that fit, Tockicos won't fit in the sleeves, front or rear. I have Lakewood Drags in the rear and Strange 10 ways in the front...

Ford owns the rights to the 3650 for a littlw while longer. No rebuild parts available from anyone but them.

Will a 275x40x17 inch tire fit my 8.5 inch wheels?

275 Nittos on my stock Bullitts and they're fine.

    Rear Control Arm Installs

You don't need a compressor for the rear springs (or the fronts for that matter) if you jack up the car high enough. You don't even need to get it very high for the LCA to fall all the way down once you undo the rear bolt to let the spring fall off, after you lower it slowly with a jack under...

pics of dr.gas x (for LT's) installed? tips?

Not that simple with longtubes. The pieces all need to be cut to length as well.

    Rear Control Arm Installs

From the time its on jackstands to the time I take the ratchet off the last tightened bolt, 22 minutes for both arms, and that's not hurrying in any manner. I have coilovers so I dont have to worry about springs on the arms.:D The huppers were easier too because I have dumps.

    Rear Control Arm Installs

I've done the lowers in 22 minutes. They're easy. The uppers are a little more difficult but not bad at all. Save the coin and do em yourself.

    Hedman Headers

No changes need to be made for them to fit. I have them and they went on a lot easier than hookers and BBKs I've done on other cars. The only PITA is the three bolt flange.

Nothing changed, they fit all years.

    pushrod swap

The chassis and frame hasn't changed since 1979. I don't see what else would be involved to make it fit other than swapping in a 5.0 tubular K to get it in there. Computer and fuel of course is a different story. The engine itself should fit fine, people are putting modulars into fox bodies...
