The Next Warhorse: 1993 Mustang LX Autocross Build

15-20hp is easy add a header and small cam in the .425 lift area. Crane used to sell a .420 lift roller cam that worked with all of the stock valvetrain and added all 20 of the HP you want. It was torque oriented and great for the street. You can gain lift with a roller rocker swap. The later...

The Next Warhorse: 1993 Mustang LX Autocross Build

You will need to do a solid lifter conversion and a solid lifter cam to get to 7,000. You can get a little extra rpm out of hydraulic lifters by shimming preload with 2 dimes under each lifter. The factory rev limit is 5700. The stock bottom ends are pretty much indestructible The stock parts...

The Next Warhorse: 1993 Mustang LX Autocross Build

Shoenfeld sells just the bolts. They also make a better header than the ranger header but it will make your wallet cry. ( disclaimer, I have a ranger header on my 2.3 powered Mustang)

The Next Warhorse: 1993 Mustang LX Autocross Build

With a conversion to solid lifters the engine is good for 83-8500 rpm. The hydraulics are good for about 6300 if you shim them and they will still occasionally fail. The stock bottom end is reliable. Order an SVO flywheel and get a lightweight flywheel cheap . We used to circle track 2300...

Classic Mustang For My Husband - Questions....

I would suggest you find someone even if you have to spend a $100 or so to get them to get them to give the car a once over . Ignore the decals , The VIN matters most, a 351c is a deal for that money . Rust can get really expensive to fix though . A Boss car will be a 4 speed only . There are...

    D port or oval port

we have used both circle tracking in the past , There has been a lot of discussion one over the other but we ended up with round ports. We used big valves and a solid roller cam, 500 2 barrel. we have seen over 220 hp on dyno sheets and turned the engines to right at 10,000 with stock cranks...

Thinking about selling my 2.3 Mustang

I got offered a deal on a little pu truck and I don't drive the mustang every day. I agree with those reasons as they are why I bought the car the 2.3 is a winner and I still have an older one I may have an engine in . I am not getting out of the Ford fold just thinning the herd.:D
