Selling a Car Title and Legal Head Up

"as is" means nothing in most states, fyi, unless the vehicle is sold below a certain price ($700 in MA). Regardless of what you write up and both parties sign, you are liable for any safety issues and anything that prevents the vehicle from passing a state inspection. now, you may have a...

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

thanks for the offer but that is a bit more head than I need and I don't want to deal with new headers. to make sure I don't have any clearance issues with my pistons, I think I'm going to order another set (of new) Twisted Wedges

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

That quote was from Trick Flow. To be completely honest, I want nothing to do with these heads and the history behind them. The most I will resue from these heads are the spring and retainers. The castings are not worth salvaging to me. plus I'll have something else to mount on the wall in...

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

THe pistons aren't stock. it's .030" over and they have a 12cc dish, including valve reliefs cut for the TW heads (I'm assuming as they are not inline). The pic below is of my shortblock. The dish is pretty substantial and I measured it at roughly 12cc using a syringe. As far as...

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

they are messed up. valve job was dont poorly, 8 valves are no good, and they've already been decked. basically, I could keep the springs, retainers, 8 valves. I think I am going to buy assembled heads and get the springs off the old heads tested. If they are way better, I'll swap them and...

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

well, my pistons have a 12cc dish, so it looks like I am around 8.6 to 1 with 60cc heads, which I think is a good place to be.

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

thanks guys. the 8.5:1 is an estimate. I will be measuring my piston dish a little later and will see how good of an estimate that was. no rpm goals. I was thinking I'd probably keep it under 6000rpm with the turbo. I'm looking for somewhere between 500 and 550ish rwhp once I turbo. For...

Time for an overhaul!... now what do I do?

if you need an overbore, the machine work should be well under a grand. if not, $500 or less is appropriate. Keep the stock crank and rods. Get new pistons. Replace all bearings, rings, oil pump, gaskets, and water pump. then you get into performance stuff. $3100 for everything is too...

    Need new heads...Any recommendations?

So my Twisted Wedge heads are fubar and need to be replaced. The only salvageable items are the triple valve springs and titanium retainers. I am considering: AFR185 Victor Jr. FPS Avenger Twisted Wedge The only other changes to what is listed in my signature is that I will be...

Fuel mileage is too low, even for a V8 mustang!

forget the fuel gauge. fill her up, drive a tank, and fill her back up. that is the amount that use use for the calculation. try to get as far through the tank as possible to get an accurate average.

Lets play "Name that Part" - Cylinder Head Stuff

i just wasn't looking for it. this si teh first time that I have had heads off of a car and didn't think about it. the heads will be at Trick Flow by the end of the week, so I'll get their opinion on them and see if I need to replace stuff. so what it sounds like some of you are saying is...

Lets play "Name that Part" - Cylinder Head Stuff

good catch. All of the valves that I looked closely at were fine, so I didn't think much of it. Unfortunately, the heads are packed up, so I can't look at them further. I don't believe that the rockers are rubbing, but maybe that could explain the ticking problem that I am having. I don't...

Lets play "Name that Part" - Cylinder Head Stuff

These are pics of my Twisted Wedge heads. #1 - Anyone know what springs these are? They are triple springs and I would like to try to find out what they are rated to. Are triples common? #2 and 3 - Anyone know what make these roller rockers are? There is nothing on them except for the...

    Shipping Cylinder Heads...Together or Separate?

So I need to send out my heads to Trick Flow for some work to get done. They are boxed up separately right now. Dimensions are roughly 24x9x7 and they weigh 29 pounds each. Do i ship them separately to keep the weight down or box them up together in a master carton with some extra padding...
