With age comes wisdom. As far as being on topic, I just really don't see Ford putting that $15,000 engine in ANY car they sell. As for the 5.4, I LOVE that motor (have one in the family Excursion, yes, we didn't get the 6.8 like I wanted, damn gas prices) so I would love to see in in a Mustang.

Great pictures, thanks. I love everything except those rims (I really love the chromed 5-Spoke 18 inchers they had in the press photos). I still haven't decided on the spoiler, I would really like to see a ducktail on it.

Several classic mustangs from the late 60's had black hoods, namely Mach 1's and Bosses. I prefer the look of the GTR (I would have to agree, minus the wing) over the Saleen. The front end of that GTR looks BAD-ASS. Nice job.

Hopefully we are talking a new Cobra R?

Forgot this on the last post, by "nameplates" I meant everything: Bullitt, Boss, Mach 1, Shelby, California Special, Cobra, Cobra R, etc.

How interested do you think Ford is in marketing these special models as collectables, and how do you think that will affect their future choices in Mustang editions? My thoughts: When Ford released the Bullitt (which as you are probably getting sick of hearing: I LOVE) they predicted about...

Math...head hurting. As far as the 5.4 3valve being smaller than the 4.6 4valve: does the extra valve really make than much of a difference? I am not questioning your judgement, I just am astounded that it plays that big of a role size wise. Guess that shows you how much I know about engines.

I was always under the impression the 4.6 the 5.4 and the 6.8 all used the same cylinder width, but the length is what varied (as Vlad said) and that is why they were the Modular family of engines. I was just curoius as to the possibilty of the Mustang's engine bay handling the bigger size...

On the topic of hood scoops though...and I already posted this on another thread, but if you look on the underside of the hood, there place for a cut out that would be perfect for a scoop, picture is on the first page of the "05 with the hood up" thread. Hope we can see a functional hood scoop...

Oh, I almost forgot, GinoGT I am a HUGE Dave Chapelle fan. All the guys on my floor (college dorm) watch each new one every week. If you don't already have it, get his first season on DVD, it's great. Have a good one.

My biggest concern is this: I have been looking at the pictures, and I have been talking to some other people. As far as I know the new Mustang's frame is a heavily modified frame that the Lincoln LS rides on. The LS uses the 3.9 V8 (I believe) because the 4.6 V8 won't fit in the engine bay...

I am not sure if somebody has posted on this before, but if you look back a couple of posts there is a great picture of a space in the middle of the underside of the hood...almost looks like the perfect place for a functional hood scoop cut out to go...

I am still trying to find a way to afford a nice used Bullitt. I LOVE those things. College has me strapped for cash, so I don't plan on picking up a new stang for several years, but when I do, hopefully it will be another special model, naturally aspirated V8. Better start saving now.
