I have a 96 Cobra and I went from 3.27s to 4.30s and I would recommend nothing else than 4.30s. You would be wasting your money. I have never been to the track and drive my car quite a bit. The rpms are only slightly higher and I still get 20mpg. The car is much more fun to drive also.

I would prefer to use the stock rims, because I want the car to look the same when I swap rims/tires because I will probably play around sometimes with the DRs on. Will I get a better hook from Nittos or BFGs? And what are the average prices on Drag Radials?

Go with 4.30s...i love mine

I have 4.30s in my 1996 Cobra with a stock driveshaft, but I would recommend an aluminum one. It drives fine up until around 100mph then it vibrates like hell. I plan on getting one as soon as I can afford it.

I have a 1996 Cobra and I have full coverage through state farm. I am 19 years old, no accidents/tickets, good student discount, and live in a small town. I pay roughly $2000 a year for insurance. I drove a 97 Blazer before I got my car and paid nearly the same amount.

I got my car back yesterday and WOW!! After I got to driving my car for awhile I forget how much I paid for the gears because my car is 10x more fun to drive now! It amazed me how much those gears picked my car up! The only bad thing now is that I am going to need new tires soon...maybe DRs...
