    White face guages?

The guy seems to make them pretty much on demand, so if someone has already requested them in the past, he has them. The km/h ones weren't listed for '86 on his site, so I e-mailed him and he said he had them. I ordered them, and what I got was a kit with every posible combination of tach...

    White face guages?

Matt, I've gotten a set of white gauge faces for my '86 Capri from here: http://www.durangedesign.com/ford.html . He doesn't list Mustang applications beyond '93, but you might try sending him an e-mail to see if they're in the works for the '02. Dave

Most of the guys on TurboFord.org say the L2500F's are fine if you're doing a stock rebuild. The killer head gasket for the 2.3 Turbo is Felpro 1035, but I think I'd use a "regular" gasket. I'd rather have a head gasket pop than melt a piston. I'll e-mail you soon for a get-together. Dave

You painted your block before getting it bored...? 172$ for the pistons sounds good if they are forged. The speedpro part number for the forged pistons I believe is L2500F. Is that what you're buying? This place http://www.hi-performance.com/CHP/index.htm has the overhaul kit (rings...

How far did you need to bore it? Found pistons yet? You can probably get ARP bolts or studs for (a lot) less than that... I'm thinking the parts guy misread the number of bolts in the package... Looking good! Dave

the car don't want to start... again..

Have you set the timing to spec? Have you checked for codes after running the engine? Vacuum leaks? I don't think the VAM signal is used at startup, but just in case, try unplugging it and starting it. If it runs any better, the VAM may be suspect. Note: This will throw a code. Dave

Need to go back to N/A, can I keep the VAM setup?

Keasbey, Check your e-mail. I thought the previous owner said that engine ran when he pulled it? Dave

    The car isn't starting.. :(

That engine was running when the previous owner pulled it, right? Normally, you wouldn't have had to touch it, unless someone fiddled with it between the time the engine was pulled and you tried starting it... I just remembered that last year before we installed Michel's engine, we compared...

    The car isn't starting.. :(

If you set the timing w/o a timing light, I'm guessing you set it at about TDC. If so, try loosening the distributor and turning it back and forth while cranking the engine to see if you can get it to "catch". The n/a and turbo distributors are interchangeable. Dave

    Electric diagram for '86 thunderbird?

Hugo, This diagram from GT350R's site is described as being for 84-86 SVO, but the "Ford Fuel Injection and Electronic Engine Control" manual describes it as being for '86 SVO, Thunderbird/Cougar. Take note of SVO specific stuff. http://esites.net/gt350r/site86eec.jpg Happy wiring! Dave

Hi, guys. Our club is having a big Mustang meet on August 7th, at Auto Collection Ford, in Quebec city. Hope you can join us for the fun! Here is a page in French describing the show, I'll try to get an English translation up ASAP. http://www.clubmustang.qc.ca/pub_2004.htm Dave

best radiator for vovlo front mount

I brought my old T-bird radiator (same as Mustang) to a local radiator place, and had them make me up a new one with a 3 row core, 18" wide (same as Volvo IC core). I trimmed a few inches off a new set of Mustang hoses (they were due) and was good to go. Dave

    Intercooler

If you mean install a different intercooler, I would take a different approach. On my Capri, I checked, and it looks like I can snake a 2½" pipe between the radiator and the rad support. If I swap a 2.3 Turbo into the Capri (possibly next year), I'd run a TC intercooler up front and run the...

Pro-Hawk, Oh, yeah! About your intakes, if you invested time into port matching them and all, then I'd run them as they are, especially if you're apprehensive about losing torque with a gutted set-up! If you want to experiment later on with a gutted set-up, you could always get another...

    Intercooler

You'd probably have more luck around here, SVO's are few and far between here... I've had a few people comment on the Turbo emblem I put on the hatch (replacing the LX emblem), so it gets noticed... That and the blow-off valve :) I had a look at your site... Nice stuff! When do you expect...

    Intercooler

The turbo engine is in my '90 Mustang, not in the Capri... The Capri now sports a 3.8 V6, which will be yanked this summer in favour of a 2.3 n/a with a 5 speed. The Mustang, being red, and sporting 16" polished turbocoupe wheels, and dual tailpipes, doesn't really fool anybody... :( Dave

Like 140cilx, I welded up some mandrel bends (Dynomax 2½") for my setup. I use a stock upper intake, however. There are a few photos of my setup in my album at foureyedpride.com, here: http://www.foureyedpride.com/phpBB2/album_personal.php?user_id=1545 140cilx, beautiful work! :hail2...

    Quick question ( 85 3.8 Stang )

Hi, Andy, Well, the weather was mild yesterday, and the sun was still up when I got home, so I took a closer look at the wiring in the Capri. I didn't find an interface point around the master cylinder (as there is on a 2.3 n/a efi), so it wouldn't be plug ang play as I was hoping. The Capri...
