CCRM houses a fuel pump relay, the two electric fans relays and the WOT A/C kill relay. Also, it is fully coated electronics inside so it will not get damaged by water ingress.

Mine had high idle before due to the alternator's diode bridge failure. This also produced a hissing sound from the alternator that may be mistaken as a bearing problem.

Not the O2 sensor. Just get a new fuel pump and inline fuel filter in. This is same mileage I got the same problem.

To discard gauge failure, do a gauge test using the instruments cluster diagnostics: press the TRIP button on the instruments cluster then turn on the ingnition (without cranking it) until "test" reads on the odometer: the gauges will go from min. to max. then min. again then actual readings...

I've noted that vibration below 100 kph is due to front wheel(s) imbalance and vibration above 100 kph that dissapears above 130 kph is due to real wheel(s)imbalance... Cheers...

Did you check 12 volts are present at fuel pump connector when turning the ignition? There is a fuel pump relay inside the front passenger side fender (CCRM)... If not, there are several threads on this forum, search for CCRM...

I replaced mine and a friend's some time ago... Best time I did disassembling was one hour... I got the upgrade kit from Ford and both gaskets are the same as far as I remember... old ones where OK so I saved them just in case...

I red on a Ford TSB that if your modular is using 5w-20 you can go thicker it will only hurt fuel economy BUT IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED on DOHC's (Cobra) due to closer clearances... If I remember well, I red that on www.p1interceptor.com (?)

Is there any update on this? My car looks the same as yours. I used degreaser to clean the underside and filter/adapter area and turned the engine on... it started a minimum leak on the filter adapter gasket which I will replace this weekend. As it only occurs while driving, I don't see oil on...

I will replace the gasket this weekend... I did not know about the coolant issue, I thought the coolant port was only for 4V engines so I suppose on 2V's the oil filter adapter is blind on the cooland port?... It is OK for me as I have to flush the cooling system and replace the engine coolant...
