Just installed 17x8s on my 65, some Q.s

The suspention is totally original/stock. But I suspect the springs are sagging a lot. If I tooks some measurements would that help? I thought I would put the wheels on before I purchased any springs to see what I needed to do. The wheels and tires are the stock wheels from my 01 Cobra...

Just installed 17x8s on my 65, some Q.s

Okay, so after researching I found I needed 25mm front and 30mm rear spacers to fit 01 Cobra 17x8s on my 1965 289. The install was easy and they all fit fine when the car is parked and pointed straight. The problem I have is rubbing of the front lower part of the fender when I turn the...

Good front drum to disc conversion kits....

Thanks. So just to verify, I'll need the front&rear cobra rotors and calipers, Mustang Steve's Adapter Plates, and the MC mentioned above. Anything else?

I'm going to be running '01 Cobra brakes front and rear. What MC do you think would be appropriate. Thanks :flag:

Good front drum to disc conversion kits....

Will I need to change the master cylinder on my 65 to run the Cobra Brakes?

    Need some help...track times inside

I'm guessing those runs were done at Orlando Speed World. If they were then those were great runs. OSW is notoriously known for wheel spin. OSW = Orlando Spin World. Those are very respectable times for OSW and to put it into perspective my 01 Cobra runs low 13s at OSW and my friends blot-on 00...

Good front drum to disc conversion kits....

:hail2: Thank you so much for that link! That is exactly what I've been looking for. Now my Cobra will donate it's breaks to the 65 and I can get Cobra R Brembos for the cobra, all for about the same price as the 13" SSBC kit! :D This is a great find! :nice: THANKS! :flag:

    65 Suspension Question

Jim- I'm in Altamonte Springs. Do you ever go to the Casselberry Meet on the 2nd saturday of the month? I'm thinking now of just getting OEM size replacement springs and new shocks, so I won't have to worry about rubbing too much. How does that sound?

    65 Suspension Question

Thanks for the replys. I would like to run the 245/45R17s b/c I already have them left over from when I got new wheels on my 01 Cobra. So would they fit better if I did no drop and just when with OEM size coils/leafs? Thanks.

    65 Exhaust Question

I would like to redo the exhaust on my stock 289 65 coupe. I am thinking of getting, Patriot Tri-Y headers NPD (9430-10) Shelby R model side pipes (5210-32A) Side Pipe Hanger Kit (5256-32A) Is there anything else I will need? Thanks.

    65 Suspension Question

I am planning on getting new springs/shocks for my 65 coupe. The Street Bandit Kit from NPD (#5000-1A) looks good and in my price range, but it does not come with rear springs. The front springs are 1" lower and it comes with a 1" drop rear blocks, so my questions is which rear springs do I need...

    House smells like Mustang

Forgive me, but I honestly know nothing about carbs. Is the choke the part that looks like a throttle body plate? If it is, then mine seems to be stuck open. My "plate" never closes. Does anyone have any good links for basic carb info? I looked at howstuffworks and wikipedia, but all that...

    House smells like Mustang

I got my 1965 coupe about 6 months ago. It has been in the family since the original purchase and has been garage kept for the past 25 years. It is in good shape with just minor rust on the fenders wells. I don't have too much money to work on it now, so I only drive it about twice a month to...

    Wheels/Tires for 64.5 Coupe

The car is Cascade Green. I dont mind going with 16s, but I think 17s or 18s are just too big. I dont want to run low profile tires on this car, b/c I want a period correct muscle car look, which was the main reason I wanted the 15s.
