Lower Control Arm trouble, advice please...

I have a '66 Coupe that I am slowly restoring as funds and family allow, I bought some parts when I was across The Pond in Vegas last year and have now got round to bolting them on. The LCA's that I bought are 4" longer than the ones that just came off the car, yet the packaging clearly...

    UCA Ball Joint Question

No, I wouldn't want to do anything other than modify the ball joint to suit the arm - it looks as if it is a common part just drilled accordingly, but until I can get to the car I can't be sure. I think you're right though - put them on e-bay and start again!

    UCA Ball Joint Question

I've been stupid. I bought a pair of ball joints from a US vendor (I'm in the UK) via ebay, and the picture was of a 4 bolt upper ball joint. I didn't read the description properly which states they are 3 bolt. The flange that houses the ball joint looks to be universal for both types...

    65 V8 with C4 - Correct RPMs?

Thanks guys, that's what I thought, as the torque converter does it's work it will go from 100% slip to almost 1:1 so the numbers don't seem right. I'll ask him to do more checks, but you can't get much wrong with speed and rpm readings...

    65 V8 with C4 - Correct RPMs?

I haven't been on here for a while, but a friend has a problem and I thought "I know who can help..." He has a 65 289 with a three speed C4 auto box - with a 2.8 rear end (he thinks). These are the RPMs that he is seeing: 1000 rpm = 20 MPH 1500 rpm = 30 MPH 2000 rpm = 40 MPH 3000 rpm = 60...

    Engine Mounting

Whilst I was under my 66 at the weekend, I noticed a drip coming from one of the core plugs (I think you call them freeze plugs). Anyway, it's the one behind the engine mounting on the left of the engine. The mounts look in need of replacement, so I thought I'd do that at the same time seeing...

    Name your mustang?

I thought only girls named their cars...:D

    My turn for a rant....

Hmmm, interesting... Even in this side of the pond, the enthusiasts magazines (American Car releated, not 'adult art'...) are full of letters complaining about the number of Mustangs featured. The 2005 up model is by no means a common sight on our roads (personal imports only), but I might...

    Voltage Regulator - Instrument Panel

Thanks Guys - Radio Shack pulled out of the UK about 10 years ago, but I can get a solid state 12V-5V regulator no problem. I'll try it out and see how accurate it is.

    Voltage Regulator - Instrument Panel

Anyone know what the output Voltage is for the instrument panel Voltage regulator on a '66? Mine has stopped working, and finding a replacement on this side of the pond has proven quite difficult, so I want to make one. Thanks in advance!

    Profromance unlimited engine builders

Get a copy of Classic American magazine, there are plenty of adverts for engine builders, that will be on your (comparitively) doorstep. $1200 shipping buys a lot of engine. I'm afraid I can't reccomend anyone from personal experience as I rebuilt my 289 myself, but there are shedloads of...

    289 HELP

Fuel pump diaphragm - if it's been sat for 16 years it will have gone hard and broken the moment you turned it over (I'd guess anyway). Get some fresh gas, and fill the carb up through the vent stubs. If all else is OK she should start and splutter for a while until the gas runs out... My...

    patching emblem holes?

Couldn't you bond a peice of sheet metal behind the holes with some two-part adhesive? Then you can fill the holes with filler. When you want to revert, you can pry off the small patch behind.

FoMoCo suing companies using "Mustang" in their names???

I for one, fully agree with what rbohm is saying, but how can any company that supports the Mustang not use 'Mustang' in it's name? How else are they to describe what they do? These companies are not trying to mislead anyone, or to try and sell whole cars and call them Mustangs - that would...
