That is true on any NHRA track. They're fairly inexpensive. I got mine for $60 new.

Don't have the AC on the mustang anymore, but I just did the R134a conversion on my 88 F150. It's 43 degrees with outside temp of 88.

I'd test the FPR first. It should hold pressure, at least for a little while and not drop immediately to zero.

I'm using the TFS-200 kit good for .600 lift. Seems to hold real well at the upper RPM range too.

You should be fine with aftermarket. I'm running 28 Moser's until next year.

I did it to the 88. All I had to do with the crossmember is turn it around upside down. Same D/S has been used in this car from the AOD the car came with, to a T-5 swap, and now the C4. Just match up your flexplate, torque converter, and bell and you're set. One thing if using an aftermarket...

If you can tap on the bottom of the motor and it starts moving, you have a dead spot in the motor. Been down this road many times with the old 65 Tbird, and it worked the same on the 88 mustang.

That's a good question and seems to vary from car to car. I changed our 88 GT over to a C4 and here is what we did. Shifter, I used a Hurst Quarter Stick kit, Flex Plate, Flex Plate bolts, Block Plate, Torque Converter, C4 Transmission. Didn't have to change the crossmember on ours, it fit...

Yup Jim, we must be. My car slowed in the 1/4 on 93. Not much mind you, but enough to tell on the time slips.

If you get lucky like I did, I didn't have to change or cut anything. I just turned the crossmember around and it worked fine. Good Luck!

I just installed the Hurst Pistol Grip Quarter Stick in the 88. Let me just say, it's hands above the old B&M that was there last year.

Ok, we tried it last night and a 70+ VB will work with a 67-69 C4. There is a slight modification that needs to be done but it will work. Don't ask me what that modification is, I'm not a transmission guy..lol.

The pre 70 models have a 24 spline input shaft, 70 and above are 26 spline. The pre 70 models also had a different VB as well as pump. At least this is what my tranny expert tells me..lol

14.002 in ours..there's a guy we race with that is now down in the 11's with an added supercharger. Last year with just a chip and 4.10's he was running 13.0.
