I think your sights are set too high for the 275 - 300 hp (to the rear wheels), especially if you go with an automatic. But don't fret, it should still be a fine running machine.
Don't worry about the timing adjuster at the dealership as long as you aren't going in for a problem that could be associated with it.
They may not like it but shouldn't give you too hard a time. They may not even know what it is.
