    Sub Frame Connectors

Anybody know how much more the Maier's weigh versus the GW type, one connection on each end?

Voltage Regulator - electronic or mechanical?

My 67 does fine with a cheap NAPA electronic regulator. I doubt that the regulator is the problem.

    Consoles

Check ebay for going rates, I've seen poor ones go for $350 and good ones for $600 up. You've seen how expensive the reproductions are and many including myself usually consider original equipment parts to be much better. I agree they are not that functional, but they are retro and cool. You...

    Consoles

Do you like the looks of the original? If so, and it is in good condition, you can re-furbish it. I assume it's a '67? I just re-painted all the black on mine, taped off everything and used spray paint. I spent some time cleaning up and shining the outside chrome. I cleaned the brushed aluminum...

    Adjustable strut rods

Don't forget about the heim joint. This helps to take the bind out of the stock suspension. One end of the rod attaches to the frame and the other end attaches to the lower control arm, which obviously does move. On the frame end, there is a rubber bushing which allows some movement. The...

    TCP Strut Rods?

Your combo is good, huge improvement over stock. Get GOOD tires, they are your link to the road! Do some research on which ones would be good for your situation. Street Or Track also has strut rods for $300. I'm extremely happy with mine. Get a performane alignment afterwords. Do a search to get...

What should I search for? Got any suggestions as to what to enter into the search engine? I tried that 1st and came up lots of stuff, but not what I was looking for. Thanks.

Weight of '91 GT vs. LX?

I've been looking for an '89 to '91 LX with the 5.0 I think the LX is a little cleaner looking and assume it's lighter. However, a fairly nice '91 GT has come up for sale locally. Does anyone know the weight difference between these two? The car is a 5-speed with a sun roof. And did all '91...

Want a laugh? "Expert" technical engine article...

The Boss 351 had a pretty steep gear, 3:91, if I remember correctly. This would certainly give it an advantage over models without that steep of a gear. And the late models have an advantage thanks to the much improved grip of the new tires. You're not comparing like to like.

What mods would need to be done to increase high speed stability?

Would air extractors in the front fenders help? Like the ones on the late '70's TA Firebirds? They would have to be lower than the TA's because of the crease along the side of the Mustang fender. I saw a set on a '70 Ranchero, they actually looked pretty good. Would they make a material...

Which first, subframes or engine reinforcement?

To me, the export brace is needed worse. Your shock towers have probably shifted some, hopefully your frame rails have not! I view the export brace as being more necessary to keep the front chassis straight. My export brace, with welded-in reinforcement, and 1" front sway bar made a huge difference.

    Discs done, cut springs?

No, it is a '67 FB, and that is a good point. I hadn't thought about that, will the stiffer springs feel different and provide different handling characteristics in one chassis, convertible, versus the FB? I do not have SFC's, but I have welded in a RH torque box, '67's only came from the...

    Discs done, cut springs?

Lowering springs Yeah, new coil springs are not that expensive. I tried trimming 1/4 coil from my stock springs and I ended up rubbing on my LH tire. I guess the springs were tired after 40 years. I have just installed Maier 600#'s, let me know and I'll give you a review after I get a few miles...
