OK gotcha,, But you heard and you hear,,,I have heard the same and then i SAW many installs of 390's and no problems,,BOB COSBY 2004 F/S Champ and Stang GURU has them on his daily driven 03 Cobra..

390's could be a compromise!!

410's awesome in auto but OD ratio in 5speed is better for cruising. Auto with 410 70mph is 2600 rpms..
