    Typical Timing?

Thank you ddonaca, that was very clear and exactly the type of information that I needed. I used to know this stuff but I've been in school (mechanical engineering) for the past two years and the information was lost. I had the car running with mechanical advance only, I remember now that had...

    Typical Timing?

Ok, it looks like my ballpark figures were a little conservative. I had it set way low. Thanks.

    Typical Timing?

Hi, I've been out of the game a while and I need to confirm timing settings. I seem to remember something like 12 initial and 32 total were good baseline numbers. What do you think the upper limit of timing advance should be? My engine combo is below.

    64-65 Turn Signal Switch Difference?

Twice the price to replace a functioning wheel is not an effecient use of my limited funds. After I get my engineering degree I will have more room to splurge on the details. :D

LED taillights - no blinkers now! UGGGHH

I agree. LEDs require very little current, on the order of 20mA per LED. There should either be a resistance in the package to mimic the old light, or some sort of electirc control (which seems more likely). Pretty cool mod tho.

    64-65 Turn Signal Switch Difference?

Some Grant wheel. I never adjusted the gap but there is very minimal gap. I took the switch apart today and found the culpret. There is a brass head on the back side of where the power wire comes into the switch, a contact wiper is routed under that head to the signal contacts. Put the ohmmeter...

    64-65 Turn Signal Switch Difference?

Thanks. Guess I'll just have to shell out the cash on a 64.5 :notnice:. Any thoughts on why the switch keeps going out?

    64-65 Turn Signal Switch Difference?

I havn't posted here in a couple years, been sunk with college and the stang stays at home because it's not legal. I've been working on it and I need a turn signal switch. This will be about the third one I've put on it. The contacts are faulty, the ohmmeter reads an open circut from power wire...

    Is it bad if?

ok so I just had some machine work done to my heads, had the valve seat resurfaced. Got the engine running today drove it ~30 miles. Got the carb tuned and timing set. I made a dozen or so pulls to ~3000 rpm, all felt great. Then made a first, second gear pull to ~4500-5000 rpm (didn't look)...

    t5 tranny threshold

T-5 trannys are rated for somthing like 265-285 ft/lb (T-5z= 305) . I got a G-force and had it in for <2200. Of course that is on a classic. But wait...your name says 93 so you should have the same setup as me.

    Bearings ? or water pump?

bearings should give a distinctive metalic screeching sound at most rpms. High rpm sounds like belt slippage.

    NOOB with a GT40P Question

Not sure exactly how much I cut, its been a while. I just cut them little at a time until it stood right. It would be a beast with a supercharger.

    NOOB with a GT40P Question

I have the P's, you can make them work. I use some cheapy tri-y headers which I had to modify by cutting out the #5&6 primaries and re-routing them down before they turn back. These could not be dimpled because the sparkplug shout strait into the middle of the tube. I run a cable clutch...
