So on the starter solenoid, there are two copper posts for the positives, one leading from the battery, and one to the starter. There are also two smaller posts, one labeled S, the other labeled I. Could somebody please trace the two wires from those posts and tell me where they lead, and which post they're connected to (S or I)?

maybe this will help:

The "S" terminal recieves the cranking signal from the ignition switch through the Park/neutral safety switch or clutch switch if equiped.

The "I" terminal sends full 12V back to the coil while cranking for better starting. once running the coil then recieves the reduced 6-9V though the pink resistor wire.
