Paint and Body Door strike

Trying to get my door strike mounted on my door frame but the little plate that it bolts in to fell in to the body panel. UGH. I even got it out once with a magnet but it fell back down and I can't seem to get it back. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Take the quarter panel plastic loose and reach inside. There is plenty of room with it out of the way.

thanks for that I actually pulled off the carpet to get at it, what a huge chore
