I have a 2000 GT 4.6 2v. I want to install long tube headers and a catted midpipe but not sure if it will pass emissions tests here in Montgomery county Texas. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,
You'll have to check local laws for that. What do they check for? Is there a visual inspection? Do they just scan the OBD?
Here in my locale, as long as those items don't throw a code, it would pass. We don't have visual inspections...just OBD scans where applicable. Older vehicles that don't have OBD are subject to a "sniffer" test.
Same here where I live. As long as the car passes the OBD2 readiness test, they will send it on it's way without batting an eye (unless it's loud as hell)

Here in Ontario (I know its not Texas), we used to have this scenario. A year or so ago, they dropped e-tests for cars and light duty vehicles and made the tests for large vehicles more intensive.
