Will a 2005 Steeda cold air intake work on a 2006 model? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't but I was hoping someone could confirm it for me. Also, can I install the intake without a tune for a short period of time without any damage to the car? I know I should get a tuner first, but I can get an intake at a really good price, so I don't want to pass up a good deal. Thanks!

Dear Whoapony,

Yes, with the Steeda CAI, you will need a tune (diablo or XCal) or the CEL will light...

This CAI sucks sssoooo much air into the intake that without a tune, your engine will run too lean causing the sensor to light up...

Steeda CAI

Hi,

I installed the Steeda CAI, Underdrive pulley's and magnaflow axle back and waited a week before I could get into my tuner of choice. If the wait is a short time there won't be any problems other than your mixture is really rich (and gas mileage non-existent). BTW after tune with these components I ended up with 297/297 rwhp/rwtq.

Good luck!
