Okay, I know this is probably a dumb question, but I know you guys know. I have a 97 cobra with 35000 miles on it and I am getting a sqeaking noice from the front driver's side when I turn and go across bumps. When I crawled under to listen I was 80% that the noise was coming from the shock. Is it time for new shocks or is it just something that needs some lubing? If I need shocks whats a good shock that will keep me around stock condition, but will ride smoothe? Also, what is the quick and dirty way to change one. Will the haynes method work good?

I will almost guarantee you that the sound is coming from the outer tie rod end rather than the strut. SN95's are somewhat notorious for the original tie rods seizing up and squeaking really loudly. The tie rod ends are quite cheap, but you'll need an alignment after they're replaced.
