The front facia is totally different. Someone got their tire cutdown by one (I think it was Kasey Khane sp??)!!
The driver is centered more and other saftey features.
The wing doesn't bother me much but the Toyotas do!!
Good thing they are sucking it up this year (so far)... Michael Waltrip hasn't even qualified for a race this year... Ha!!!

What's the big difference?
To the casual fan, the NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow might not look radical aside from its taller windshield and bigger greenhouse. But notice that the current car has a thin steel spoiler that is bolted across the rear of the deck lid, while the COT has a huge rear wing that looks like a Pep Boys accessory. The front of the COT has a big, horizontal aerodynamic splitter that extends beneath the front bumper, and cool air for the radiator is funneled beneath the front bumper instead of through a conventional grille opening. Finally, the COT exhaust exits toward the grandstands on the passenger side of the car.
Other differences are substantial but less obvious. To isolate the driver from injury and permit access by safety crews, the inside of the car is larger, some 4 inches wider and 2 inches taller. In addition, the roll cage has been shifted rearward 3 inches. The driver seat is also 4 inches closer to the center line of the cockpit to improve side-impact protection.

Great pics man, it was a pretty good race at the end. I ended up catching the last 20 laps when i got home Sunday.

I really dont like NASCAR at all... I dont follow it in the slightest bit... but atleast now with the ''car of tomorrow'' the cars look like race cars.
They should race STOCK cars IMO

It IS hella loud!!!!! I wear my headphones for my scanner and with the scanner at full volume the cars still are very audible! The car of tomorrow has the exhaust exit towards the stands so that made it even louder than before. With the 43 car field on the track they put down around 36000 HP(apprx 850 each)!!!!! The other sounds of power I love to hear(outside Mustangs of course)are the NHRA funny cars, top fuel cars and military aircraft engines. I plan on attending the air show at Andrews Air Force base this May and the NHRA event near Richmond in October.
That was one of their main goals. To have a "common template" and still be able to distinguish the brands. I think they look more like the street going car than the past 15 years. I like them.
On the first part, "common templates" they get an A+, all the cars look exactly alike.
In the 2nd part " distinguish the brands " they geat and F-, it's now nearly impossible to tell one "brand" from any of the others.
Time for NASCAR to nuke everything and start over with real production based race cars like they had 40 years ago.

I have spent more time this year watching Acura's progress in the LMP2 class of American Le Mans Series racing. Sadly, I am losing my motivation to waste Saturday and Sunday. Between the Tire design change this year and the Pit penalties, I am getting tired. It does not help personally that Tony is sucking major sack.....

IMO, Nascar has taken the grass roots out of the sport and has stripped it of everything that has made it what it is today.
It's all about the almighty dollar, and to see how much money NASCAR can make.Git rid of the COT, kick out Toyota, give Mark Martin his damn Daytona 500 trophy he deserves.
There are to many rules, and a sport that was fun to watch because it wasn't politically correct,is even now losing that.

Yes I'm a NASCRAP fan of yesterday. I used to be an addict, but haven't watched a race in a couple years. NASCAR has become like pro wrestling, all sound and fury signifying nothing. LCD as they say.
Yes, I've moved on ALMS & SCCA. I can't even take the France family's dumbed down sports car racing where every car looks exactly the same too. They've even ruined the 24 hours of Daytona. The France family appears to think the average American has an IQ less than 80 and couldn't tell a Prius from a Excursion.
