is that much better than stock or would it be worth my while to spend more money and get something better. I can get teh same intake and the 65mm TB for a decent price but if it's only a little better than stock would it even be worth my time
 
The Explorer flows 220 CFM, much better than stock. The Explorer and GT 40 flow almost the same. I would highly recommend the swap.
 
I have one painted tomatch my car,all I have are crappy phone pics taken right aftre the install but w/e and I've done some cleaning/painting since these were taken

How much power could you make with gt40p heads ported, ported cobra intake, 70mm throttle body, 1.7 rockers, x303 cam? All this on a 306 with a 9.5:1 compression ration? This is for a friend with an 87 t-top gt.



I would NOT recommend that setup unless those heads are matched to that cam and rockers. GT40's do not flow past .500 lift, my set up right now is 1.7's and an E303 cam. An X303 with 1.7's is gonna be way overkill for the GT40P's. My total lift is .528, and I have a way smaller cam than the X303. If I went with 1.6's or do the variation with 1.6's on intake and 1.7's on exhaust I would see better results. But as for power, I would like to say I have around 250-260 at the wheels.
