Took a group up to Glendora Mountain Road near Los Angeles today, perfect weather, snowcapped mountains, twisty roads.

Looks like a great trip. I have been trying to get some of my buddies to do a cross-county trip in our cars. So far no takers. Mustangs Across America has done such a trip but I know of nothing planned in the near future.

The wife and I took a small trip last summer and found that the seats are just not up to par. So now we take her camry when we go on trips.(less miles on the stang :) ) I think they are fine for short trips but I would not survive a long trip in the stang. Better bring some pillows or somethin.

Ya there are some good roads in New York..i live in Connecticut, and there are some ok roads heading out to R.I..Nothing compared to the roads going from S.D. to Palm springs..I forget where it was, but it was like a desert and the roads coming down the mountain into the city were amazing..And there was this one stretch that was straight with some little dips that went for like 5 miles...And, oh ya, ive had my run ins with the po po on my cycle on Palomar a few times!!!

One of the car magazines tested a V6 and a GT. Apparently the seats on the V6 are not as comfortable as the seats on the GT.

The seats are the same, aren't they?
The seats on mine are very comfy, and so much more so than the ones in my old 00 GT.

I don't think the V6 and GT seats are the same in all respects. Just looking at my 2007 sales brochure, it appears that the V6 cloth seats have wider panels than the GT cloth seats. The V6 leather trim seats also appear to have wider panels than the GT leather trim seats, and it appears that only the GT has PERFORATED leather.

Also, there are bucket seats and SPORT bucket seats. It depends on the trim level and model as to what you get.

Looks like fun. We have some great roads with scenery like that up here in WA. I don't ever seem to get out and enjoy them much though, and this time of year is out of the question.

Slightly off topic but that is one beautiful ride you have, what with the color, the seats (parchment, right?), spoiler delete, and painted fanblades.

May I ask what kind of rollbar that is and what effect it has on the back seat? Finally, who installed it?

:nice:

Thanks.
That is a chamois interior.

The rollbar is from a company called "Autopower" in San Diego. They installed it for $800 complete. You can still sit in the back seats, but adults would be in danger of hitting the rollbar supports in a crash. Children can easily sit back there still.
I had it padded and covered by an upholstery shop here in Newport Beach for another $300.
I'll be in San Francisco on Friday for the weekend, if you want to see it.

Gaaaaaah!!! Thats $$$ but is worth it because its actually functional. Aesthetically, the angle of the roll bar is more consistent with the lines of the car, as opposed to the mainly cosmetic light bar. I'll keep a note of your source.
