Thanks a lot, now I have to spend more money and get them cause it does look great! My rears are 285/40/17 still should work right?

285/40 is a big tire! That's really too much tire for the 8.5" inch wheels you have. But hey if it's working for you don't change anything. If/when you lower the car you're more than likely gonna have to roll the lip of the fenders on the rear. If not it's probably gonna rub when you hit bumps in the road. It will cut your tires.

I rolled my fenders years ago to run the 275/40's.

The 285/40 tire works fine and with the other suspension mods it handles great. Over the years I have ran many tires that were "too big" for the rim width (many different brands of cars) but I have never had a problem I got the exhaust done and I do love the sound! My big thing now is I think I made a mistake with the 4.10 gears. I'm at 2800 rpms at 70mph. Now I have to decide 3.73 or 3.55s. I had 3.55 in my 89 LX and it was a mid 12 second car with a little NOS. The thing is I had to shift into 4th right before the 1/4 mile finish line, so I'm thinking with 3.73s I would be into 4th early enough to make sense. On the other hand I only plan on racing this one once or twice a year so the 3.55s would probably be best!

Looks great Bob! I know you're gonna love the sound of the Dynomax Ultra Flo's. I have the same catback on my vert but with an offroad X pipe. I love it!

The 4.10's are very popular with AOD tranny's but typically too much gear for the 5 speed . 3.73's are nice with the 5 speed, and decent on the hwy. The rpms are right around 2K at 70mph. That's what I've had on my vert for 10 yrs now and have really enjoyed them. However, may I recommend 3.55's. My SSC had 3.55's. I felt the 3.55 was perfect for spirited driving with better cruising rpm's on the hwy. That was my favorite gear of my two cars.

Nowadays, since my recent HCI upgrade and also the blower my 3.73's have become too low of a gear for this power level. It just blows off the tires in 1st and 2nd.
Now I'm thinking of swapping to a 3.27. My buddy has 3.27's in his supercharged '94 Saleen S351. Those gears are perfect for higher power levels.

Sorry, I'm going on, and on, and on ,and on. i've been told I have the gift of gab. "Whatever that means" LOL

3.73's will run about 2400rpm @70 fwiw. I've had 3.55's and 73's. If you're going to run a near stock engine either will work and really comes down to a personal preference. I don't really see a difference in day to day driving i.e.fuel economy etc.

I don't know what to do after last night. Some teenagers in a Prius were checking out my car at a stoplight. One asked me "Is it a stick" I said yes, and he was all thumbs up, cool etc. Then he says "you wanna drag". I just smile and say no. The light changes and he hammers it (remember it's a Prius with 4 teenage boys in it). I let him go a little and then of course I nail it. The look on there faces when I hit second gear was priceless. After I slowed down and let them get next to me they were all smiling ear to ear and going crazy! Under 80 mph It is so much fun with the 4.10's and I am worried that with the 3.55's I won't get the same feeling. Also going to 3.73's seems like a waste of money to drop highway RPM's only a little. What do I do guys?
