Had the same sound on a 03 GT with 4500 miles on it. Took it to the dealer, they replaced both A arms, said the bushings were the cause. No more noise after a quick stop or when turning the sterring wheel at slow speeds. Hope this helps ya!
That's what I was thinking too. Thought either the a-arm bshings or the ball joints have gone bad. I guess I know what my next upgrade is going to be....
Also could be the solid metal bushing in your steeda c/c plates. They do wear out and are replaceable for a high price... I'm pulling those off & installing ones w/ polyurethane bushings asap!! They translated too much noise thru the strut tower anyhow!
Well, I still have the clunking sound. I am going to order new a-arm bushings, ball joints, and spring isolators next week. Hopefully this will stop the noise.
As I suspected! I swapped out the POS Steeda C/C plates w/ solid spherical bushings w/ Hotchkiss C/C plates w/ polyurethane bushings and.... NO NOISE. Crazy Horse in NJ did a great job (they also installed a Eaton Posi in there too). A++++
lower control arm bushings have them checked out, mine was making a noise just like that and it was my bushings were bad got them replaced for free good luck
snoopy98- is that a '98 you're talkin about w/ bad bushings? A bit early if so. By the way anyone out there w/ rear coil over kits? I'm thinking about that along w/ fronts.
