I jut went to a guy, cause I was asking him about gears.. and he said I had 3.27s and I have a stock v6 2000.. So most likely u should too... If that helps..
Also when I was talking to the guy.. he was saying I should go 3.55s If u use freeway..But with a v6 he said hed go no more then 3.73s... but im intersted to know more ;0

You have 3.27's like Blown said, unless again it had a previous owner who swapped gears. The only way you could tell then is to open up your rear diff cover. or you could jack up the back end of your car and rotate the tire and see how many times your DS rotates.

Don't fear the Gear...go with 3.73's I do highway driving all the time, at 70mph I'm doing around 2300 rpm in 5th gear, but I have a 98 as well so it may be slightly different. 4.10's may be a little uncomfortable on the highway, cause you may feel like yo uwant to shift but you won't have any gears left to shift to. Also Don't waste your time and money if your just gonna go to 3.55's from 3.27's, it won't be worth it, oyu'll barely notice a difference.

You have a 7.5" rear end all 99+ have 3.27s even the GTs if you want look at your rear end (no not that one ) there should be a metal tag and it should have stamped 3.27.
Unfortunetly there is not a 3.55 gear for the 7.5" rear end like there is on the GTs 8.8.
So Dont fear the gear (i like that) you ll probably be a little over 2k on the freeway should definetly be less than 2,500 @ 65

Unless you are going all out on your car with Nitrous and slicks, you won’t need 3.55's get 3.73 or 4.10

Rule of thumb is automattics get 4:10's, 5-speed's get 3.73's (but thats a dumb rule if you ask me)

www.gefracing.com has the best prices.

When you get your t-lok, make sure to get the Friction Modifier or whatever it is called, cost like $3 or $4

I have an auto and im thinking about going with the 3.73s, $200
since i have an O2 im going to need a chip (or something similar) to calabrate the speedometer-$200+
plus labor _???
why other than the fact of being able to do 2 wheel burn outs and if my car ever gets stuck in the mud (which will never happen) puts traction to both wheels would i want to spend $200 on T lok???

more traction is allways welcome, youll notice the difference in your cornering and in wet weather, and in tire ware. more even, tires last longer, and youll be putting more power (not horse power but you know what i mean) to the rear whells, wich will cause a bigger chance of loosing your traction

one last question: is my differential a 7.5 3.27 with a 28 or 31 spline?

thanks :nice:
