Gangsta' Leaning Seat

I have a 91 Coupe with the GT like interor. Of course the drivers seat has the wonderful lean to the console. I also have a set of mint seats out of an 89, but has the cheaper interior. Does anyone know if the frame of the seats would be the same, as in removing all the covering and internals from mine and transplanting it onto the donor frame?
Thanks

If it looks like it will, then it probally will. There were the 'vert seats, and the other one's like in the 4 banger and a few base model 5.0's, but most had the extender legs and adjustable headrests. I had the leaning seat, it was great bargaining material when I bought the car. I took to an interior shop and they took it apart and rewelded it, so it is more solid than it was new.

Any idea what actually breaks in the seats?

I just took mine apart and got it all fixed up. What seems to break is the spot welds (mine was cracked too!), right at the base of the seatback. This allows one side to lean. A little welding did the trick, and I added a couple nuts and bolts for good measure.

I have the same problem with my the back of my drivers seat leaning/not staying upright. I actually started a thread about it today.

90mustangGT, how much did it cost to have the interior shop weld it back up? I don't have any welding experience so I'd rather have it professionally fixed.
