I just got my new Cobra and from day one the passenger side seat rubs very slightly against the passenger side inside door panel producing a very annoying creaking/squeeking noise. The only way to get it not to rub is to put the seat all the way back and not have a passenger sitting in the seat. My solution right now is I've got a rag shoved between the seat and the door. The dealership is going to look at it this week when I have them look at some other "problems" that I'm having with the car. These other problems consist of squeeky brakes, 1st gear tranny noise, clunking noise under the car when I make a left turn over some small bumps (the turn onto my street) and to have my GPS installed. I also have some issues with the quality of the paint on a few spots. When I picked up my car it was raining so I couldn't check it out very well on the spot. I talked to the dealer and they appear to want to bend over backwards to ensure that I'm happy. I know that I'm being somewhat particular, but a new Cobra isn't cheap. I love my car and don't have any regrets getting it. I just want the little details fixed. Anyone else have any issues with there new Cobra and what have they done?

If you take your car to the dealer they have a shim kit that they have for the passenger side deat. The Mach 1's had the same problem. The seat is too close to the door and rubs. Once they install the kit it won't happen anymore. Good luck!

I just bought the exact (torch red 10th aniv.) car saturday 2/21/04 and it looked like the rear quarter had what I'd call microscratches. Like it was washed dirty (it was filthy when I first saw it). It was also rained on and I didn't notice these scratches until it was home in the garage. I'll be listening for that seat noise.

You're describing many common problems that many '03 Cobra owners have experienced. My seat squeaks as well, but my dealer says they will fix it the next time it's in for service. My belt squeaks when the car is cold as well, and it's annoying. I've slowly worked all the bugs out of mine, with the most important being the stall issue (I just got my PCM re-flashed on Monday).

Even with all the little problems, I wouldn't give the car up for anything!

I bought my Redfire on Monday, and it's been in the garage since because it started to rain after I got it, but my instrument cluster lights aren't working for some reason. Also I'm not sure, maybe it's me, but the clutch seems a little chattery in first. It had 100 miles on it when I got it so maybe someone that didn't drive a clutch all that well dameged it. I'm going to get them to look at it for me when I get lights fixed. I hate going to a dealer for service though.

My clutch was chattery at first. But, as I got to learn how the clutch engages and found the "sweet spot" where it like to disengage, it got much better... but it still does it every now and then in reverse and 1st gear.

I bought the EXACT same car as Mustanglance and Dragon on 02-16. I do have some bodywork issues...Funny thing is, the dealer pointed them out to me!! One is a ripple in the front bumper cover and a couple of very minor chips on the passenger rocker. Nothing else yet though...They have been calling me trying to get it in to repair, I'm just having to much fun in it and cant give it up! Hell, I havent slept in 2wks...No S$@T!...Too pumped!

I took my car in yesterday and showed them the minor scratches and paint defect that my car has and they are going to fix them for me. I got a call from them today and they are giving me a new Tranny since Ford doesn't want to fix a new car. They want it taken care of the right way now and not mess with it over and over. Another guy's cobra is there right now with a blown engine. Ford has shipped 2 engines now to the dealer and the shipping company has damaged both engines. Ford said screw it and are giving the guy a whole new car. Pretty good customer service from SVT if you ask me. All my little issues are being fixed and they are really cool about it.
