Ok let me try to explain i ain't no mechanic. I installed my shifter and now i'm at the top end part. Where did you install your's, in the bottom hole or the middle hole? And on the left or right. Thanks

Bottom left here, too...

One thing I'll mention is to make sure you do a good job trimming the black rubber on the boot. I didn't and the shifter was fighting against the rubber, making the shifter feel really stiff. Did some trimming work the other weekend and it works great!

Someone created this, I found it quite useful for those contemplating which one to get and their actual throw

You probably just think its better.....All that ring does is prevent the shifter from ripping the boot....it doesn't bind anything up.

It is better. The noise I heard before I pulled it off was a clicking noise in second and fourth. I have not heard it since then. Maybe the lower handle was hitting the stop because that was also adjusted at the time. Maybe I will put it back on and try it again if I can find it. Thanks for telling me what that thing did because I had no idea.
