Yes! In process

Yeah i'm workin on it... I've got everything out and am currently looking for the parts required. I have a 281-E dressed, long block saleen motor so far. Right now i'm working on getting the cooling, exhaust and oil and lower intake manifold. Need blower, injets, wiring, hoses, vacuums, transmission.

I was reading over in the 5.0 forums, and they tell the 6-8 swappers that you need new motor mounts too. Not sure if that applies to the 4.6 or not, but I'm sure a set of solid motor mounts wouldn't hurt anything :)

It was the two most recent issues...they did it in two parts. At first I was pretty excited at the prospect of what seems to be like such an easy swap, but after actually coming to my senses, I came to the realization that they must have left out a lot of little odds and ends that could create some problems when you get caught right in the middle of the swap. Maybe I am just not outgoing enough. :)

It just seems to me that for the price and labor involved, why not just go ahead and drop in a 4.2 with a stout bottom end and boost the crap out of it. With the right top end, 400+ to the wheels is well within reaching distance.

Ahhh hell, when it comes to future engine mods, don't listen to anything I talk about doing. Today I am preaching about a blown 4.2 but tomorrow I might very well be contemplating a 4.6 swap. :nonono: I'm too wishy washy. Okay, sorry for the rambling. :p

I believe the 4.6 is a direct bolt in with our suspension setup. If you want a 5.0 or 5.8, the K member from a 94-95 stang would need to be used along with those motor mounts.

I gotta agree with atlblue.......the 4.2 would be a much closer swap to the 3.8 (dimension wise) but would still use your current wiring and accessories. The 4.2 would need a new ecu, or chip to get it running right. There are many more things that are different, but it would probably take several different posts to get every single item that would need changed
