The KB install is complete but I had no luck today. I made a couple trips around the block and came back to the house to check things out. Everything looked good so me and dad went to really DRIVE the car- Damn this car pulls HARD with no detonation but I start to smell something so I go back home and lift the hood-THE SERPENTINE BELT IS BROKE IN HALF AND THE DRIVER SIDE PULLEY IS GONE(ONLY THE SHAFT IS LEFT).
To my surprize this is not the first time this has happened on KB kit for the GT's. A bad lot of these pulleys are out there somewhere and I just happened to be one of the lucky ones. I was glad to know is was not something I had done. So for future reference be careful on the first couple of drives and try to stay out of the boost as much as possible until you are sure your pulleys are good.
I guess I will call KB on Monday so I can get a new pulley and ship the other one back. I wanted to drive my car so BAD this weekend!
Thanks for all the support during my install, especially Matt.
I have pictures upon request- Just PM

wow. Future KB buyers beware. Make 'em overnight the new pully !

I knew the KB's were no good !:D

What a stupid comment! A pully is bad from a manufacturer (that is not Kenne Bell), so the whole blower system is deemed no good? So, God, if you knew they were so bad, why didn't you enlighten the whole world and tell us what was so bad before hand if you "KNEW" already?

There are several blower systems out there from various companies and I would bet my house that every one has had a bad component at one point or another that was not the direct fault of the company that compiled the list of parts to sell as "the" system. I remember when Dell had a bad run of hard disks from Western Digital; Dell doesn't make hard drives, but the drives were in their machines. Dell is going strong today because people realize that ALL manufacturers sometimes have bad runs of components. Dell was not the only "assembler" that got these disks. But like Dell, Kenne Bell WILL make good for the part from its pully distributor. They DO NOT need to be strong-armed into it. My bet is that the part is shipped already. I guess you haven't been following the threads of current Kb customers, have you?

So, if you are all-knowing, share your absolute wealth of knowledge with the rest of us before any of us buy anything from now on. I also want to see your perfect car and why it is better than all of the rest of our cars. Because as you say, you "know."

Give us a freaken break from these dumb comments unless you "really" know WTF you are talking about.

Ooopps

Had a bad day I guess. Been dealing with a lot of dead-beats and crap lately. I guess I am a little too punchy because of it. Lately I have been screwed over by every freakin contractor/vendor known to man and my customers are being reeeeaaaal slow to pay for services already rendered. I guess I just got a little defensive for the only compnay I have dealt with lately (KB) that gives a crap about good service. Oh well. Yes, I have had a few glitches, but they are VERY willing to help me out with anything and they have made good on all of my compaints.

And yes, I do need a beer and a little down time.
