time should be better.......if you missed shifts 6 times out of 12 runs.......I would recommend a shifter as your next mod.....

Dave

I do have tri-ax shifter (see sig).. It's not the shifter fault.. I just let out the clutch too early before I could jam the shifter in 2nd. I did not grind it.. it just stayed in neutral and reved up. I have no complaints going 2nd to 3rd at all.

I'm hoping to get down to low 13's with some DR's

BTW, you guys that have stock gears (3.27). Did you have to shift to 4th gear at all? My 4th gear redline at where 1/4 mile ends exactly..

Also, should I be staying around 5000 rpm (that's where my peak rwhp on dyno graph lays) in 4th gear all the way to finish? or should I redline it..

how much wheel spin?

1st and 2nd were horrible.. my car felt like it want to go side way sometimes..

what did your brother saleen ran?
lol i think the best they could get was a 15.8 out of it. they had 3 different runs with the saleen. it is a 01 saleen with custom superchips tune, 4.10 gears, detroit truetrac rear end, 31 spline axles. we've got some wheels we can put slicks on, just gotta buy some slicks now. same with the subframe connectors, have those, just need to install them.

You need practice, not another mod. Practice is way underrated. Practice will help with your missed shifts and your poor 60ft. times.

To answer your question regarding 3.27's, I stayed in 3rd gear through the traps.

The biggest problem I'm having with the 4.10s is (no surprise) traction on the 1-2 shift. My 60' times with the 4,10s actually were more consistent and slightly lower than with the 3.27s. I'll chalk it up to finally learning how to launch with 4.10s and street stock Goodyears. That, and the standard length SFCs might have stiffened up the car to the point that the chasis reacts more consistently/evenly to weight transfer/excessive loads.

If you are headed back to the track with the same street tires, try walking it out of the hole off idle. Slow your 1-2 shift up to the point that you hesitate just a tad just enough so you don't powershift the car. It's hard to describe but the point is you can't just hammer the 1-2 like you probably did with the 3.27s. At least not at the track I frequent - it's sideways city if I do that!

And lastly, do what I'm going to do - get an extra set of rims and slap some drag radials on. Did you bounce off the rev limiter at all in 1st gear? I did 2X, so I bought a cheap Raptor shift light. Haven't used it yet, but I expect it will help me focus more on the driving and less on my tach. Might be the best ET-reducing mod I'll ever buy next to the DRs!
