I am around half a tank and I have gone 40 miles. Is that right? When I fill up I will figure it out but that seems kinda low even if I was driving hard. Might not have filled it all the way or sumthing, I am new to this car

I get 12.5 mpg right now. With this new PMS system that im curently WAITING ON :notnice: i look to get over 17.

My whole point it that with a good tune you could get better gas milage.

My car usually fouls a plug or two on cool mornings because its running so rich (burns itself clean after a short distance.. I lose more fuel from starting my car and idling then i do driving it.. But my previous tuner didn't even mess with anything except WOT.

Mustangless, that is pretty horrible if you are at 1/2 and only gone 40miles. Make sure that you started off on a full tank to begin with. I average 100miles on 1/2, which is roughly 16 mpg.

yea if all you have done is some exhaust you either have something seriously wrong with your car or your gauge is wrong. If you're going through that much fuel you must notice it leaking out on the ground or the car running horrible. Check the ground for fuel, then check again, I don't know how you're car could be running at all with that kind of mileage.

I know a friend of mine who routinely gets that mileage out of his Mustang ('95 GT), and it drives just fine, so that's no indicator :D. But his engine is pretty well shot (blowing lots of blue smoke) and no doubt his O2 sensors are hosed. A correctly running 5.0 should get around 20 in the city, and at least 24 on the road. I even got 29 one time on a 2000 mile trip in my stock '94 GT (long time ago...).

I would do the standard tune up -- plugs, rotor & cap, clean the MAF & TB, and if you got any significant miles (most of our cars do at this point) it might benefit you to get a new set of O2 sensors ($50/ea, two required). Then see what that gets you.

damn. I get roughly about 85 mpg per half tank if i slam the bejesus out of my car. cant imagine what the hell you are doing. Do you launch your car at every stoplight? :rlaugh: My pride and joy tank was 302 mile on one full tank. allll highway

i get around 15 if im not dogging it everywhere i go, maybe punch it or run it up through the gears only a couple times.
That's just not right. I get at list 18 in city driving consistently, and I'm running absolutely pig rich (eye watering, literally). On the highway I get low 20's. As it is I'm planning on replacing my O2 sensors soon, I'd be pretty pissed if all I could get was 15!

When my O2's were shot, I would regularly get about 9 mpg or so, highway! It would eat up half a tank on a 38 mile round trip, all highway. That may seem extreme, but that's what was going on, and I wasn't driving it hard or anything.

Now, I average between 19-20, occasionally higher. My commute now is pretty stop and go for about 1/4 of the 42 mile trip, along with some pretty aggressive passing. :)

hey if I was running rich for 500 miles I guess the plugs are shot now right? I was running around 50psi on accident and just double checked it and saw why I smeel like gas on startup.....

Get your actual gas mileage by filling ur tank up full and resetting your trip odometer. Then drive normally and the next time you get gas, take how many miles you've driven and divide that by how many gallons it takes to totally fill up your gas tank again. I get around 23mpg on the highway.

you get at least 18 in the city but what you consider city driving is probably much different than what i consider city driving. hell even on the highway a lot of times around here (4-5 lanes in each direction) it's stop and go. in city driving i am usually going around 30-50mph and hit a stoplight at least once every 1/2 mile. also constantly slowing down and speeding up for people turning and whatnot. the area i live in is #1 in the nation for traffic (my house is about 5 miles outside DC), so im sure my "city" driving is quite a bit different than your city in oregon.

Was getting 180 miles to the tank. Changed my fuel filter and it jumped to 225 per tank. There's more than 1 problem with 80 per tank though. Start with least expensive changes first! Good Luck Bro!

i get 100-110 on the first 1/2 tank....

when i do the calcs after fill up i get anywhere from 15-17 city driving every week

i think i'll probably replace my fuel filter too, sounds like a good idea and i haven't done it since i bought the car in october

when i did my o/r h i looked at my O2's and they were still good at 75k miles
