given...it is an 8 psi SC I wanna buy and the car has 72,500 miles and it was owned by an elderly coule that knew a mechanic...so it was driven softly and taken care of..what do you think?

No problem.. You could go to 10 and be ok (well, relatively speaking). I put mine on with 70k miles. Guys on here are doing it with over 100k.

GO FOR IT!!!

that doesnt mean a thing man piston rings wear out all the same. i had 69k on my GT and had 100+ and 89 or so arcoss the board best thing to do is do a leak down/compression test. then you shouldnt have a prob pulling up to 12 psi.

mines got 118k on it now and i'm runnin about 8lbs. the only thing that would concern me at that age would be a blown headgasket. i would feel alright put it on with that engine.

A head gasket can blow on ANY engine. Ive seen it a lot on the people with new heads. Ive been lucky so far (stock heads) IM wondering if the age of the car with that stock gasket still there, that the gasket is kind of "molded" and stuck on there pretty good, like my VC gaskets were when I removed them?

I would never buy a modded car unless I knew the person well, that is just my opinion. You could have a car like mine that has been driven easy while only seeing WOT from time to time. You could also have a car that was hammered every day for years. If you really want the car the best thing you can do is a compression check, a leakdown test, and give it a good overall check.
