I was out the other night at the local cruse spot, and after a stop from about 85 to 50 i noticed smoke coming from my left front fender when i was at a stop light. So i pulled over and realized that it was my brakes. Are my brakes suppose to do that? Is this bad? It kinda bothers me that my brakes were smoking. I think that night i did some kinda hard stopping, but anyways would buying cross drilled and slotted rotors solve this problem. Help me out guys.

brake smoke

brakes smoke when they get really hot. no big deal. check your fluids and your pads but i'll bet you're fine. if you want to get rid of the smoke, get better pads and run hi-temp brake fluid.

Smoking a set of stock brake pads is not hard.
I do brake testing in my line of work and you'd be surprised how quickly you can light up a set of stockers.

Slotted rotors would help dissipate heat. Fluid change wont make it any better because its all about heat transfer.
