I know Nitto says the D/R's could last up to 15,000 miles. I don't plan any strip use for them except once in a blue moon, Strictly daily driver. Anyone on here with just daily use? What's the avg. tire life? Just want to get a rough idea. I'm thinking 315/35/17's.

True life on them will be 10k-15k miles. It's all according to your driving habits. My last set (275-40-17's) lasted 13k miles and had around 25 passes at the track on them. They were on my 01GT. Now that I have the cobra, I will be ordering the 315-25-17's very soon and I expect a little less life due to having MUCH more RWHP now. With the stock F1's, I am traction impared to say the least. I say go for it man!

I had 275 40r17 on my 97 cobra just replaced them after 16000 hard driven miles, they are great tires I honestly didn't expect to get near the mileage I got out of them,
I just bought 315's my rim size is 9.5 they weren't even close to fitting the rim, I think Nitto recomends 10.5 at least.
you'll love the tires everyone who has them does

How good are these on wet roads, just like - easy driving... in case you get out and get stuck in the rain???
I use my car as a daily driver as long as you weren't crazy on getting into the gas when it was raing they were fine, that is one of the reasons i went with the nitto's I heard others saying they were surprisingly well in the rain, and they were right.

I bought my car with 245/45/17's on the back and the regular 555's up front. I loved them. they were almost wore out when i got the car and i drove on them for a while and didnt notice them getting any worse. They finaly got bad enough i had to replace them and i went with the cheaper street version. big mistake. i miss my dr's soo bad. I run at the dragstrip on weekends and my times got seriously slower. they have EXELENT dry weather traction. As for wet weather, under the speed limit they are more than fine. never had much of a problem with mine even in heavy rain as long as i was obeying the s/l.

Fat tires look Phat!!! :nice:
Trust me. I did a lot of searches etc, before I put the 275's on my 17x9's. They look great, esp. when compared to 245's. And I don't have to run them on a low psi when on the street to get even wear.
No problems in the rain. But I always stay within 10 mph of the speed limit.
Now, if you want dedicated street AND different track tires...

They aren't all that bad in the rain as long as you avoid standing water. They have a tendency to hydroplane over standing water more than a normal tire would. I've been caught in terrential (sp?) downpours without incident. Just drive like you normally would in the rain - slow and careful. Do NOT goose it in any gear and don't make sudden lane changes. In a straight line in the rain, they perform just like any other tire, they just allow less room for driver error.

ET Streets and Drags on the other hand.... track and absolutely dry pavement only!
