U sed fox VCs on my AFRs. I had to use 2 3/8" spacers on my intake to clear them but I was already planning on using the spacers. I don't have an Ed cam but my car seems to be making a ton of power, but I haven't pushed it hard yet and I'm also fighting a used Mac longtube header problem right now. I should have gotten a set of BBK longtubes...oh well. I'll beok I guess.
Ya know, I was going to ask you in another thread why you went with AFR 185's and 1 3/4 longtubes. That just seems overkill for a 302 unless you planned on getting a blower or something...
From what I've read lately, people that use 165's and 185's on a 302 end up making around the same #'s, although I bet you lose a bit down low with the 185's in terms of torque and/or throttle response. Plus without the right intake and cam, you may not be pushing enough air up top to take advantage of the higher flow #'s of the 185's because the 165's have adequate flow for a 302 as it is. Hell I've heard of people using 165's on a 347.
Regardless of the heads, the 1 3/4 longtubes do seem like overkill. I've heard going too big on exhaust when it's not needed can really hurt you. Why did you go with 1 3/4?
