Ok guys just wondering if you could point me in the direction of the best Cold Air Intake on the market. I've heard good things about K&N FIPK, BBK, MAC, and Densecharger.

I'm not too concerned with how it looks, but how much power it makes. I did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for.

Sounds like a good idea, would I just use PVC pipe?

And that Anderson Powerpipe, is that the one that mounts in the fenderwell?
yeah pvc...here is my current one...sorry for the DIRTY engine bay...ill clean it up a little bit and post another pic....

there is no such thing as SOTP with a CAI. although, the pedal is a wee bit stiffer and there is a slight gain. nothing to hoot and holler about. i think you should save yourself some time and buy an ebay one and paint it the color of your choice. I painted mine black to match the car. i get a couple compliments here and there on it. a lot of stang guys are like "whoa, i didnt know they sold black ones" and im like "they dont, im just the prime example of cool...i painted it" .....i dont say that, i just tell them i painted it :rlaugh:

Anderson powerpipe is the only one that really helps you out with mild or high mods. Anything else is really the K&N. Ex. MAC, BBK, home made, and ect...

What is it about the Anderson powerpipe that makes it better than the other CAIs?

I'm not trying to be smart or anything, just dont know what the difference is.

www.procarparts.com, its 77 dollars shipped. The thing goes on in literally 30 minutes and the fitment is awesome. Every company cold air induction is the same thing. Its just a long tube that mounts the air filter in the fenderwall. There is no point in spending the money on a 130 dollar length of pipe. I planned on making my own, but I priced out all the materials and to get everything exactly as I wanted it, it was gonna cost 24 bucks plus the air filter. So for about 10 more dollars I just went with the procarparts one. It comes with its own filter as well.

This is the one I bought. I was going to make a my own because I like the straight-through design (like Anthony's). I got lazy though and didn't.

i have the mac and it sucks.. just make your own or just buy a filter theres really no power gain.

Unless your looking for the swoooooosh sound.

Say I only got 6 HP by adding it. It cost 77 bucks. That's about 13 dollars per horse power. If this price applied to all mods, I could theoretically get 100 more horsepower for 1300 dollars. The only way to beat that price to HP ration is spray. Bang for your buck, cold air induction is an awesome mod. If you think about all your mods this way, it really puts things in perspective, especially the awesomeness of pulleys.

Another vote to make your own.
I've purchased a FIPK from K&N, and I quicklly exchanged it back. :nonono: believe, me once you open the box, you'll wanna get another. (BTW, they don't make any generation FIPK II for our cars)

I've made my own, and the most expensive part was buying the air filter for 24 bucks at Autozone.
