best Lower control arms?

This quote is referring to the Pro3i "race" arms... and I agree with the above that spherical on both sides is ONLY for VERY hardcore applications. I would recommend that if these arms are for a daily driver, then do NOT get arms with spherical bushings on EITHER side. The Pro3i "street" arms are a good product well worth considering.

I was advised by Matt at Maximum Motorsports that if you plan on a power adder or putting a lot of power to the ground to go with lcas with spherical bushings on both sides. He said that the urethane bushings can't handle big power and with hard launches you will be looking for new lcas with spherical bushings on both ends very soon.

I run spherical on both sides for daily driver.. feel more of the road and its stiff, but low noise and overall ride quality is better :shrug:

I wouldn't sway ANYONE from them personally

I had some LCA's with sphericals and ending ripping them out to increase ride quality. I am NOT AT ALL saying you are wrong, just that they provided more ride harshness than what I personally wanted in my daily driver.

Thanks for reporting this to everyone. People should take this advice. Its gonna be another saying on this forum soon.. Instead of "Don't fear the Gear," its gonna be "DON'T FEAR THE SPHERICALS!"

Keep in mind that while aluminum is, of course, lighter than steel, it also breaks, whereas steel will bend first. Unless you're willing to inspect them on a regular basis (like after every run), you might want to re-think aluminum control arms. Daily drivers really should be using steel.
 
I was thinking about getting the Steeda aluminum weight-jacker adjustable LCA's for my car, which is always a daily driver.

I was just planning on getting the 3 piece bushings, and not the spherical bearings.

Does anyone else suggest steel over aluminum LCA's for daily drivers???

Yes, I had the steeda aluminums and my local shop wouldn't install them based on being aluminum.. They have had customers come in with broken steeda alum LCA's and replace them with steel MM's. YOU ONLY SAVE 1 POUND ON EACH SIDE WITH ALUMINUM. The MM's are the same weight as stock, 6 pounds. Get the MM's with spherical bearings on both sides. My stang is my only car/daily driver. They create more noise but most of it goes away after 2 weeks. Squeeking from the stock suspension in the rear is practically gone. Poly bushings wear out and will need to be replaced where as the spherical's can handle any power given to them and don't wear out. I barely have any noise from them and because of their strength, was able to remove the quad shocks completely without suffering ANY adverse effects. Don't fear the MM spherical's
