ANYONE can do Pinewood.
Our Church's AWANA's group did it.

My younger daughter got 3rd in speed and 2nd in show (there was no states for her age group.)-BARBIE Car.

My older got 2nd place in BOTH speed and show with a Sponge Bob Car. SHe was in the first place race at state and lost, and didnt make it back to the final round.

Did you rub pencil lead all over the axles? the graphite helps reduce the friction. :nice:

Wow, that looks really nice... Unless I read over it, I don't think it was posted, but what type of paint did you use? How did you go about prepping the surfaces?

Also, those pinewood derby cars look really cool. :nice: I remember making my pinewood derby car back when I was in the boyscouts quite a few years back. Sure was a lot of fun.

did you ever consider recovering the Mach tweeter pods with a red mesh?

good job on the horse, are you going to attempt to paint the MUSTANG lettering on the passenger airbag cover?

Chingo..Where the H3ll have you been?

Actually, I read the tech article on here about the redoing the mesh on the Tweeters...it's a thought.

As far as the "mustang" on the pass side, Im not sure....I had to spray the paint into a cup..it needs to be fairly liquidy to apply..When I was doing the horse, it kept "thickening" up on me.. When it's too thick, too much sticks to the bristles of the brush.

JR..you gotta do the little vents.

Black Vert: I guess you could use SW, but it cant be the really fine grit...You just want barely enough to etch the surface lightly..that ensure that all the grease and dirt is gone..then you clean with alcohol.

Thanks all.
