OK, I'm totally out of ideas. My car won't start....won't click or anything on the starter OR the solenoid. The battery's good, the wires are good, the fusible links are good. There's a new solenoid, a new starter, new cables. It's wired up right, and everything is getting power. And I replaced the ignition switch. So why the hell isn't this thing working??

Everything's grounded....that was also one of my major suspicions. As for the neutral safety switch....I've never messed with one before, so this might sound a little stupid, but where's it at and how do I replace it if I find that it's bad?

It's not a neutral saftey switch cause if it was it would cut power to the starter solenoid. I'm tellin ya to check the inertia switch. It's in the trunk behind the rear panel by the lock it has a button...push it.

the switch should be in the housing of the trans. normally just two wires - it just keeps you from trying to start it in something other than P or N.

i would be thinking loose cable or neutral safety switch issue, based on what you have said. it should not be hard to track down.
i wanna: doubt he has an inertia switch for his carb. the car would crank, even if the switch had popped. :)
good luck.
