Symptoms: It vibrates all the time but gets alot worse on acceleration. I hear a thumping noise but nothing is hitting nothing is hitting under the car, once again, alot harsher under acceleration. Making a grinding noise under acceleration from rear. It started about a week ago and has been getting worse.

I think my FMS 3.73 gears broke a tooth or something. What do you think???

Driveshaft? do you have an aluminum one or has the stock one been re-balanaced? Has the balancer weight come off?

Does your tranny grind while shifting into gear? I know you say it's its coming from the rear. So pop the rear-end cover off and check those teeth.

If you havent changed your tranny fluid in a while dump that too. Your more than likely not going to find any metal shavings becuase there a magnetic base at the bottom. But it might be worth a shot.

Check your U-joints on the D/S. Because my were thumping when they went bad.

Good Luck Man!!!

guess your in the market for a new trans !

When I converted to a 5speed from the aod I put in a used t-5 and it lasted only a month, I then bought a new T-5z motorsport trans for like $1050 and had it for 3 years running mid 10's before it let go. The tremec is an option but pretty costly plus all the stuff you have to buy to install it. Depending on how fast your car is I'd look at the T-5z, it will bolt right in. If you where close to me I'd look at your blown t-5 to see if it was fixable but oh well.
