GoneIn11 said:I have the Hypertech Power Programmer for my cobra and it rocks! No problems and LOTS of power!
GTvert01 said:I wouldn't reccomend the hypertech over the superchips.I have both, and you can pull dtcs with the superchips, and it is for a wide variety of cars whereas the hypertech is more year specific.I have both because my dad sold his 03, and I took the programmer.
GoneIn11 said:Actually the Hypertech does read and clear DTCs for your year, here's a link to their "features chart" for Ford just check the website.

GTvert01 said:Yeah, but the superchips can be used one several years and on a different car than the one that is programmed
BuffaloZone said:You're not talking about the Superchip micro tuner, I trust. Are you comparing the Professional style "Lap top" Superchip custom tuner to the Hypertech programmer?
GTvert01 said:You trust wrong, I am talking about the Superchips Microtuner.
The microtuner pulls the dtcs and displays them so you can see what the problem is.Sure the hypertech can clear them,
but unhooking the battery will do the same thing. If it clears tham, how will you know what the problem is?
BuffaloZone said:Then I don't get the part where you make it seem like the Microtuner can be used up and down the street on several cars at the same time? On my Microtuner, it was "VIN Locked" to my car and my car only...just like the Hypertech. But if you're talking about SC's Microtuner DTC reading mode -ONLY- then that's pretty silly since AutoZone will read them for free if that's what you prefer and most people don't buy a "Tuner" to use as a code reader, because you can buy specific code readers for less than the price of a "Tuner". I've seen code readers for $39 on Ebay.
GTvert01 said:You obviously read it wrong.I never said you could use it as a programmer on more than one car.I responded to the quote about the dtcs.

Why in the hell would you want to go to autozone if you didn't have to?
I prefer the superchips over the hypertech
BuffaloZone said:And you have (or have had) both...right? Then what's up with your "Hypertech" sig?
GTvert01 said:I still have both, sorry I didn't update my sig just for you.
The hypertech that I have doesn't pull dtcs.
That is the reason I said that.I didn't know that the newer ones do.My programmer only works for 99-01, whereas your prgrammer only works for 02-04.The superchips works on most 4.6s, not only mustangs, from 96-03 and the 03 cobra. From a resale p.o.v. it would be easier to sell the programmer later if you switched cars.
The superchips reads the dtcs on all ford OBDII equipped vehicles, does the hypertech do that?
